Dear People of the Territory and Anglican Church of Canada, Today delegates and observers from the Territory of the People gathered together at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Kamloops, for the Electoral Assembly to elect the second bishop of the Territory of the People. On the first ballot, Clara Plamondon was elected with the unanimous concurrence of the Provincial House of Bishops. The news was received by the Assembly with much delight and applause! When Archbishop Lynne McNaughton called Clara to share with her the results of the first ballot Clara’s message to the people of the Territory was that she is “humbled by your trust and eager to begin working with you.” Clara is currently the Incumbent at St. Paul Anglican Church, Nanaimo BC where she has served since June of 2018 in the Diocese of BC, Islands and Inlets. She was ordained Deacon and Priest in the Diocese of BC and holds a Master of Divinity from Vancouver School of Theology. Clara is currently the Prolocutor of the Ecclesiastical Province of BC and Yukon. Clara brings with her much experience, a pastoral heart and enthusiasm for ministry. The date for Bishop-Elect Clara Plamondon’s Consecration service will be scheduled and announced over the coming weeks. Many thanks for the prayers that have been received from across the country this day. Blessings, Melissa Green Chair, Electoral Committee
