New Primate Elected for the Anglican Church of Canada

Today, the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada elected Bishop Shane Parker as the new Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada.  

While four candidates had been chosen by the National House of Bishops earlier this year, during voting the House of Clergy and the House of Laity petitioned the House of Bishops for additional candidates. That additional candidate was Bishop Shane Parker. 

Our congratulations go out to Bishop Parker. Our prayers are with him as he embarks on this new chapter of ministry. We also hold in our prayers the Diocese of Ottawa as they go through a transition as a result of this election.
